Description of the new integrated Gmail layout.

In the new integrated view of Gmail, you can access your emails, Chat, Spaces, and Meet all in one place.
 
The new layout provides the following opportunities:
  • You can view the Google apps integrated into the Gmail main menu
  • You can see the menus of certain apps on the collapsible panel
  • You can receive notifications about new chat and space area messages through notification bubbles
  • Hovering over the icon of each application, you can view details of the processes taking place within the application without changing the context.
  • Display or hide the sidebar panel

The new application menu

Google Mail, Chat, Spaces and Meet applications are now integrated into the Gmail main menu. The main menu of each application appears in a collapsible panel. You can hide or show the collapsible panel at any time. Here is a guide for performing the following actions:
  • To switch between applications: click on the app name
  • Viewing icon previews: Please hover on the desired icon.
  • Hiding or showing the collapsible panel: Click on the Show or hide main menu Menü option in the top left corner
  • Customizing applications in the main menu:
    1. Click on the Settings  icon in the upper right corner. The quick settings menu will appear.
    2. Click on the Customize option in the "Apps in Gmail" section.
    3. Select the applications you want to use in Gmail.
    4. Click on the Done button.

New chat environment

You can access individual and group chat messages from the Chat page.

If you want to open the chat in a small pop-up window at the bottom of the screen, click on the "Open in a new window"  option at the top of any chat or in the side panel next to the chat message. The window will remain visible until you switch to other tabs, such as the Mail or Projects tab.

When a new Chat or Spaces message arrives, a notification appears in a bubble in the lower left corner. If you hover over the bubble, a preview of the messages will appear.

Replying to a message appearing in a bubble:

  • To open the message and respond directly from the Chat or Spaces area page, click on the bubble.
  • If you want to open the chat in a small pop-up window at the bottom of the screen, click on "Open in new window"  or Reply option in the top left corner

Enabling notification bubbles:

  1. Click on More options Chat notifications settings in the top right corner of the Gmail window, next to the status indicator. Legördülő menü nyila  majd Chat notifications settings option in the top left corner
  2. Check the "Enable chat notifications" and "Open new chats in a bubble" checkboxes in the window that appears.
  3. Click on the Done button at the bottom of the window.

Tips: 

  • To turn off the notification bubbles, remove the checkmark from the "Open new messages in chat bubbles" checkbox.
  • To switch from full-screen chat bubbles to pop-up chat bubbles, uncheck the "Open chat bubbles in full screen" checkbox.
